Can Vilatort is a rural farmhouse located on the foothills of the Massís del Montseny massif in the town of Sant Esteve de Palautordera, some 40 minutes from Barcelona, and surrounded by fields and open countryside.
The farmhouse has a long history, and it appears mentioned in a taxation document from 1360. Documents have been found which relate the house with the Templars, as shown by the symbol which crowns the entrance.
The house later became an important farmhouse; its fields extended across the entire horizon and the house itself was much larger than it is now. During the Guerra del Francès (1808 – Napoleonic Wars) it appears that a fire partially destroyed the building, as with other nearby farmhouses.
