Stories of goblins are widespread in the spoken traditions, and
they also appear on Montseny, together with legends of witches,
of bandits and historical and religious satires. Goblins,
although their name varies according with each region, (sprites,
Jack o’ Lanterns) etc all have the similar traits. They
are traditionally linked to the Fly Agaric Mushroom, and some
anthropologists associate them to the hallucinogenic symptoms
generated by eating the fungi. Goblins work if you know how
to manage them, if not they run riot and get up to all kinds
of tricks. In the wine cellars of Montseny for example they
open up barrels and finish off the wine reserves.
