The municipality of Sant Feliu de Buixalleu (population 817), is one of the largest in area in the district of La Selva, covering as it does 64.5 km2. It includes the parishes of Sant Feliu de Buixalleu, Gaserans and Grions, with each parish church positioned at the centre of a group of houses, isolated farmhouses and a number of property developments. The borough also has a major industrial area in the south, comprising a number of different sectors on the Gaserans and Skol industrial estates.
Montsoriu Castle
HERITAGE: MONTSORIU CASTLE: One of the finest fortified Gothic military constructions, in the 13th century it became the seat of the Counts of Cabrera.
PERXISTÓ POOL: The famous Black Pool, beneath the Perxa d’Astor estate, now known as Can Perxistó, where Count Ramon Berenguer II of Barcelona, known as "Towhead", was assassinated on the 5th of December 1082 at the hands of his brother Berenguer Ramon II, "The Fratricide".
